all 3 parts are up. Timmy acts like a lil kid playing video games. Timmy gets interviewed by Jaymee Sire and tours his hometown to interview him and see the sights and sounds as he drives in his Mercedes.
From the internet to the front office back to the internet. A good story about Voros McCracken from Jeff Passan.
Or not really. This article is kind of depressing, but still excellent. Reminds me of this quote from The Wire, from the mouth of D'Angelo Barxdale on the subject of McNugget invention: D'ANGELO: And the ***** that invented them things still working in the basement for a regular wage thinking of a way to make the fries taste better or some sh*t like that. Believe.
Kroon was a closer in Japan who has hit triple digits. It's a minor league deal, not sure if he gets a ST invite.
I'm pretty sure Tim doesn't drive a VW surf-van.
Twitter is going to be big one of these days. Just watch. It's like an RSS feed crossed with Adderall and the decline of Western civilization. It's a gas. Follow me @mccoveychron, and every so often I'll tweet something that doesn't show up here. It's like a secret club with secret messages. Be sure to drink your Ovaltine. Really, though, I just wanted an excuse to put the above image on the front page. I'd love to see the algorithm that spat that out.
Great breakdown of the 2011 Fodgers' payroll for the 2011 season. Their 25 man payroll should come in around $94.5M, while their deferred payments to ex-Fodgers adds up to $16.3M - that's over 17% of the cost of the entire 25 man payroll! Even worse, McCourt/Ned doubled down this off-season and went on another deferred salary bender. Approximately 25% of the money that they used to sign/re-sign Uribe, Guerrier, Lilly and Kuroda is deferred into later years. Money quote from the article: 2011 Deferred salary Manny Ramirez $7.67 million Juan Pierre $3.5 million Andruw Jones $3.37 million Jason Schmidt $1.5 million Brad Ausmus $150,000 Octavio Dotel $125,000 Total: $110,813,000 Like Shakespeare said, at some point you have to give the devil his due. And it could be scary when it comes.
