The San Francisco Giants head back to Coors Field today to take on the Colorado Rockies one last time this season. They’ll be hoping to get their 100th win and maybe even gain some ground against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West race.
Yesterday’s loss wasn’t the end of the world, but it does put the Giants in a particularly tough situation. They’ll be entering Colorado with an exhausted bullpen, behind a starting pitcher who is recovering from COVID-19 and is on a pitch limit.
But it is Coors Field. And I know it giveth, and taketh away on a whim. But the team did sweep the Rockies last time they were there. So there’s hope. And also terror. Fun!
Additionally, it might not have been a happy flight based on the game, but the Giants made their own fun. The commitment to the bit is just chef’s kiss perfect.

A programming note: I’ll be on vacation for the next two weeks, starting tomorrow. I know, I know. Worst timing ever. I booked this trip in April, not knowing that 1.) I’d be writing about the Giants again, or 2.) that the Giants were going to turn out to be the best team in baseball and maybe a trip right around the end of the season isn’t the best idea. But I’ll be following along, watching the games in my hotel room or bribing unsuspecting bartenders in Tennessee to turn the games on. And hopefully when I get back we’ll still be watching games.
