The San Francisco Giants welcome the Atlanta Braves to Oracle Park tonight to kick off a three game series. The Giants are in win-now mode, having lost ground to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the division with two losses to the San Diego Padres this week.
They’ll be looking to Logan Webb to help right the ship tonight. Webb enters tonight’s game with a 2.80 ERA, 2.90 FIP, with 132 strikeouts to 32 walks in 125 innings pitched. Webb has been phenomenal this season, but is coming off of a fairly rough start in Sunday’s game against the Chicago Cubs, where he allowed six hits, five runs (four earned), walking two and striking out five in six innings of work.
He’ll be facing off against the Braves’ young right hander Ian Anderson, who enters tonight’s game with a 3.61 ERA, 3.95 FIP with 107 strikeouts to 47 walks in 109 innings pitched. Anderson’s last start was against the Miami Marlins last Friday, in which he allowed five hits, two runs and two walks, striking out nine in five innings of work.
