And it’s only August.

Good morning, baseball fans!

Despite their best efforts, the Giants were unable to out-Mets the Mets last night and came away with a win. Though they are dangerously close to going full-Mets, and that’s never what you want. So hopefully they can escape Citi Field this evening without taking any of....

/gestures vaguely

...that with them.

With that win, the Giants clinched a winning season for the first time in four seasons. And what a long four seasons they were. The Giants haven’t had a winning record since the Cubs won the World Series. Which isn’t saying as much as it used to, but Kris Bryant is now a Giants. Coincidence? Maybe. Or maybe not. Time will tell.

Anyway, here’s a post game picture of Johnny Cueto to start your day on the right track.

Old, random MCC article for you to read

Not so old or random, but you should definitely make sure to check out Brady’s post from yesterday announcing our new McCovey Chronicles staff members Yasi Khan and Steven Kennedy!

What time do the Giants play today?

The Giants close out their season against the New York Mets tonight at 4:10 p.m. PT, before heading to Atlanta tomorrow.
