Good morning, baseball fans!
Last night’s game sure was a fun one, with many highlights and standout performances. But perhaps most notable was Brandon Belt, who went 4-for-5 with two home runs. This pushes Belt close to a milestone he has flirted with, but not yet achieved: a 20 (or more) home run season.
Belt wasn’t just putting on a show for the fans at Citi Field and back home, however.
During the postgame show, Belt (who is generally pretty private about his personal life) shared that he had lost his grandmother yesterday morning. Going on to say that he wanted to dedicate last night’s performance, and the rest of the season, to her.

"It's been a pretty tough day. I've been in a daze all day. I was just glad I could come out there and do that for her and just wanted to dedicate the rest of the season to her as well."
Belt said his grandmother, Margaret, was one of his biggest supporters. His grandparents paid for a lot of his showcases in high school. "I've kind of been in a daze all day," he said. "I was just glad I could come out here and do that for her."

I’m certain I am not alone in sending my best wishes to the Belt family.
