Sunday BP: Atlanta is continuing to hoard ex-Giants

Atlanta traded for Stephen Vogt on Friday, and will pair him with their many other former Giants.

Hello and happy Sunday.

Earlier in the weekend, the Atlanta Braves decided that they didn’t have enough former San Francisco Giants on their roster, and traded for Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Stephen Vogt.

With Travis D’Arnaud injured, the Braves were in need of another catcher, and there was Vogt, just waiting to be plucked from the worst team in baseball. He’ll catch pitches from former Giants Will Smith and Drew Smyly, and join Pablo Sandoval and Ehire Adrianza in Atlanta’s lineup. Maybe he’ll even catch pitches from Sandoval!

That’s a whole bunch of former Giants, which means you should at least consider rooting for Atlanta in your spare time.

Or don’t, I don’t really care.

What time do the Giants play today?

The Giants play the St. Louis Cardinals this morning at 11:15 a.m. PT. Please enjoy your brunch baseball. It’s a lovely thing.

Have a great Sunday!
