It’s the second game of a three-game series between the San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals. And it’s the second game of a seven-game road trip for the Giants that will set the tone for the second half of the season.
The Giants lost their series against the Cardinals before the All-Star break, but after a strong win on Friday, they have an opportunity to win the series today, and then go for the sweep on Sunday.
A sweep would be a great way to start the second half of the season, but I think I’m getting way, way ahead of myself.
Anthony DeSclafani takes the mound for the Giants, and last time out he was pretty great: 6 innings, 4 baserunners, 0 runs, 6 strikeouts. More of that, Disco.
Programming note: There will not be a recap today.
