Brandon Belt is officially back. Prior to their Tuesday game against the Texas Rangers, the San Francisco Giants activated Belt from the 10-day Injured List. To make room for him on the 26-man roster, the team optioned right-handed reliever Camilo Doval to the AAA Sacramento River Cats.

Belt hasn’t played since May 25, and has only appeared in six games since May 11 as he dealt with a lingering oblique injury. He’s had a strong season when healthy though, as he’s hitting .228/.350/.474, good for an OPS of .824 and an OPS+ of 131.
He’s also returning at a great time, as the Giants are set to face a pair of right-handed pitchers at a hitter-friendly park. The stage is certainly set for the All-Star first baseman to come back strong.
Doval heads back to Sacramento just three days after being recalled. He didn’t pitch during that time, though appeared in 13 games earlier in the season.
