Hello and happy Monday.
In case you haven’t noticed, the San Francisco Giants are quite good. And while they’re still a few games away from the halfway mark of the season, this feels like a good time to step back and look at the prospects for the rest of the year (no, not those prospects — that’s a different thread).
After all, they’re coming off of a successful series against a good Oakland A’s team, and tonight embark on a new series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
What better time to assess a team?
The Giants, shockingly, reached 50 wins before the halfway mark.
The Giants, shockingly, were the first team in baseball to hit that mark.
The Giants, shockingly, are on pace to blow past the 100-win mark.
If they go .500 the rest of the season, they’ll be comfortably into the 90s in the win column. Even if they have the win percentage that most projected on them before the season for the rest of the year, they’ll be hanging around 90 wins.
So how many do you think they’ll win? Put your prediction in the comments, limit of 15 per customer, and the winner(s) will receive their choice between a three-month subscription to MCC Premium, or a free, blind five-star Yelp review at their business. Offer not valid in all states.
I’m going with 109.
