The San Francisco Giants made a move between the first and second games of their Saturday doubleheader against the Washington Nationals. Backup catcher Curt Casali, who had been on the 10-day Injured List with a wrist strain, was activated. He replaces Chadwick Tromp, who has been optioned to the AAA Sacramento River Cats.
ROSTER MOVES: C Curt Casali reinstated from the 10-day Injured List.

C Chadwick Tromp optioned to triple-A Sacramento.
Casali hasn’t played since May 30, and the Giants will be hoping he finds his bat now that he’s healthy. After a very strong 2020 with the Cincinnati Reds, Casali has been scuffling at the plate in his debut Giants season, and finds himself hitting just .104/.250/.119. He’s been strong behind the dish, however, and has been the starting catcher in five shutouts this season.
Tromp heads back to Sacramento, though he’ll continue to spend time on the taxi squad whenever the Giants are on the road. In three gams with the Giants this year he’s 4-9 with a home run.
