Hello and happy Sunday.
Programming note: No recap today.
Logan Webb got his first real taste of the San Francisco Giants rivalry with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday. Prior to his start, Webb had never faced the Dodgers in LA, with fans in the stands.
There were certainly fans in the stands on Saturday though, and those fans found Webb. After the game he couldn’t contain his happiness while telling reporters that he was getting heckled by some passionate fans.
Like Posey, Webb says that he had a lot of fun with the fans getting on him here. “They were petty ruthless down there!” he says. “But it was fun.”

That came just a day after Buster Posey smiled one of the biggest in-game smiles we’ve ever seen from him — only to admit after the game that he was having a conversation with some Dodger fans.
It seems the heckling was not only fun for Webb, but productive, as he had one of the best performances of his career. He only threw 62 pitches, because it was his first start since coming off the Injured List, but he allowed just 1 hit, 0 walks, and 1 hit batter in 5 innings, while striking out 7.
Whatever works.
