The San Francisco Giants will not start their series against the Colorado Rockies on Monday night, as originally scheduled. More than three hours before the first pitch, both teams announced that the series opener would be postponed as rain has been hitting the Denver area hard.
The teams will play a doubleheader on Tuesday, with the first of the two games starting at 2:40 p.m. PT. Tuesday’s game was originally scheduled for 5:40, which is probably around the time the second half of the doubleheader will get underway.

Due to the current health and safety protocols, each game will only be seven innings long. Despite that, the doubleheader is a “traditional” one, which means the second game will start shortly after the first one concludes, and there will only be one set of fans allowed in for the day’s games.
Teams will also be allowed to add a player to the roster for the day, and, since the Giants are on the road, they’ll be limited to the five players on their taxi squad: infielders Jason Vosler and Thairo Estrada, catcher Joey Bart, left-handed pitcher Conner Menez, and right-handed pitcher Kervin Castro.
