The San Francisco Giants will play their 31st game of the season on Wednesday, and it will have been their ninth game against the Colorado Rockies.
Yes, the Giants are making the trip to hitter’s Disneyland for the first time this year, but it’s already the third showdown with the Rockies.
And if you think that’s too much, well you’re in for a treat, because the San Diego Padres are next. Again.

Three Giants to watch

Mike Tauchman: Tauchman has experienced quite a revival since the Giants added him last week. In four games with the team he’s hitting 5-16 with a double, a homer, and some solid defense. Against a handful of righties at hitter’s paradise, he should have a chance to shine.
Brandon Belt: I keep putting Belt in this column because I keep anticipating a breakout. It hasn’t happened, though until the last series he was having a pretty solid year offensively. Now he heads to Coors Field, and faces a poor team with a lot of righties. I’m expecting quite a few hits.
Logan Webb: Wednesday could be Webb’s last start for a while, if Johnny Cueto is able to return next week. Webb has had some moments this year, but has certainly struggled more often than not. The good news is that this start comes against one of baseball’s worst offenses. The bad news is that it comes at Coors Field.

Ryan McMahon: McMahon has eight home runs on the year. Five have come at Coors Field, and two of the remaining three have come against the Giants. He’ll be looking to mash a dinger or two in this series.
Germán Márquez: Márquez has struggled with walks all year, having issued 19 in 32.2 innings, which includes 6 in his 9.2 innings against San Francisco. The Giants pride themselves on working counts, and are tied for fourth in baseball in walk percentage. He takes the mound for the series opener, and it’s safe to say the Giants will try and force him to throw a lot of pitches. His last start was against the Giants, and they got to him early and often.
Dom Nuñez: It’s hard to find a batter who more perfectly sums up modern hitting approaches than Nuñez, whose slash line entering the series is .222/.311/.611. It will be a battle all series for the Giants pitchers to try and keep him in the park. If they do that, they have succeeded.
