Hello and happy Thursday.
Darin Ruf’s comical two-run home run on Wednesday propelled the San Francisco Giants to a game and series victory over the San Diego Padres.
It also gave the Giants 11 home runs on the year (all but two of which have been of the solo variety). Here’s how many homers the Giants have hit after five games in the past five years:
2021: 11
2020: 6
2019: 3
2018: 8
2017: 7
Trending in the right direction!
20 runs on 11 home runs however ... not ideal. But easier to fix the “get on base before the home runs” problem than a “hit a home run, please” problem.
