The San Francisco Giants have a chance to earn their second sweep of the season, and while every sweep is nice, a road sweep of the Philadelphia Phillies would qualify as a substantially more impressive achievement than a home sweep of the Colorado Rockies.
It’s also morning baseball, so fire up the french press, order a breakfast sandwich, crawl under the blankies, and turn on the TV.

Notes
Belt hopefully available: Brandon Belt exited Tuesday’s game with a minor injury, and that’s why he’s out of the lineup against a righty. However, Gabe Kapler is hoping that Belt can be available off the bench.
Injury update: Belt feels better. Will be evaluated at the park and Kapler said they’re “hopeful” he’ll be available off the bench.

Beede will throw a side in Sac. He’s throwing at 100% and will be ready to join team shortly.#sfgiants
Rest for Longo: Evan Longoria has been one of the Giants handful of players who have been everyday players this year, so his exclusion in the lineup is simply to get him some rest. The Giants are currently in the middle a 13-day stretch of games every day.
Longoria will get a day off.

Posey fifth: Partially due to Belt’s absence, and partially due to hitting two monster homers off a strong righty yesterday, Buster Posey bats fifth, which is the highest he’s been in the order this season.
Enjoy the baseball, friends.
