That’s an improvement over last year.

Hello and happy Saturday. This Saturday is brought to you by SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across MLB. Each week, we send out questions to the most plugged-in San Francisco Giants fans, and fans across the country. Sign up here to join Reacts.

The San Francisco Giants have gotten off to a nice start this year, and fan confidence has reflected that. According to the latest SB Nation Reacts survey, 87% of Giants fans are confident that the team is headed in the right direction, which is up from 79% last week. That’s a pretty nice number. I’d like 87% of people to be confident in me, personally.

Perhaps more noteworthy is that more than half of fans are confident in the team’s defense, which would have felt impossible a season ago.

Through Thursday, the Giants had committed only two errors all season. Lack of errors isn’t necessarily the best indicator of a good defense, but given the team’s inability to not shoot themselves in the foot with silly error after silly error in 2020, it’s still a joyous stat to see. So you can see where the confidence is coming from.
