Sunday BP: Will you go to a game this year?

There will be fans in the stands this baseball season. Will you be one of them?

Hello and happy Sunday.

It sure looks like there will be fans in attendance at Oracle Park on April 9, when the San Francisco Giants have their home opener against the Colorado Rockies. In fact, it’s looking so likely that the Giants even released a statement about it.

Even if there’s a setback, and fans aren’t allowed for the home opener, it seems very clear that there will be fans at Oracle Park at some point this season, and likely sooner rather than later.

But will you be one of them? There are certainly still reasons to be hesitant about attending a baseball game right now. We are still in a pandemic, after all, and we certainly still will be in April. And going to a ball game where you’re not allowed to buy an $18 beer doesn’t feel right to me. And limited crowd size means you lose some of the ambiance of a crowded park, and that might make things less fun.

So do you intend on attending a game this year? Or are you already circling the 2022 calendar?

How many days until Opening Day?

There are 25 days until Opening Day. I’m not sure if any Giants have worn that number.

Have a great Sunday, folks.
