Hello and happy Monday. Welcome to the week where baseball returns to our lives. It’s lovely, isn’t it?

Speaking of things that are lovely, an interesting report came out on Friday about the San Francisco Giants. According to Steve Berman (also known as Bay Area Sports Guy) of The Athletic, NBC Sports Bay Area is targeting Hunter Pence for a studio role for the upcoming Giants season.

I have no clue if Pence would make a great studio analyst. I want to say yes because ... well ... he’s Hunter Pence, he’s perfect, but you just never know with these things. As Berman notes, Pence is an enthusiastic and positive person, which could lead to him being unwilling to say negative things about the team or its players. On the other hand, he’s a bucket of excitement in a sport often lacking it and, from what we’ve seen of him in interviews, knows how to seamlessly blend serious sentiments with humor.

NBC Sports Bay Area has tried a handful of different Giants in studio roles, and it’s safe to say we all hope Pence accepts the job and does well at it.

In similar but non-Giants news, Berman also reported that the network is targeting Joe Staley for San Francisco 49ers studio work which ... yeah, that would be unquestionably perfect.
