2021 Willie McCovey Memorial Community Prospect List No. 35

The 34th chapter of the 2021 Willie McCovey Memorial Community Prospect List was our closest yet. They’re all extremely close at this stage in the voting, but this time first and second place were separated by just two votes.

Those extra two votes went to 21 year old infielder Jimmy Glowenke, who has been named the No. 34 prospect in the San Francisco Giants farm system by the McCovey Chronicles community.

Glowenke was a second-round pick by the Giants in June’s draft, though it’s worth noting that he was A) the team’s fourth selection, due to being taken in the compensatory round, after a prior compensatory round pick by the organization, and B) considered an overdraft for slot money purposes. As such, he’s the fifth player from the 2020 draft to make this list, coming in behind Patrick Bailey (No. 8), Kyle Harrison (No. 9), Nick Swiney (No. 17), and Casey Schmitt (No. 21).
