Good morning, baseball fans!
As I predicted last week, the Atlanta Braves have defeated the Houston Astros to win the 2021 World Series!
Houston managed to get one more win to extend the series to six games, but ultimately weren’t able to make it very competitive in Game 6, with Atlanta winning 7-0.
This mark’s Atlanta’s first World Series win since 1995. And funnily enough, it means that Pablo Sandoval will receive his fourth World Series ring, having been traded earlier this season for National League Championship Series MVP, Eddie Rosario.
It’s bittersweet for San Francisco Giants fans, many of whom rightly assumed that it would be a team from the NL West that would ultimately win it all this season, after the incredible race to the finish between them and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
But Atlanta did us a solid and took out the Dodgers in the Championship Series, and for that we’ll always be grateful. Also, former Giants Ehire Adrianza, Adam Duvall, Drew Smyly, Will Smith and Stephen Vogt will also receive World Series rings, and we love to see Forever Giants thrive.
Congratulations, Atlanta fans!
