Monday BP: Tommy La Stella out for four months after Achilles surgery

La Stella is still likely to be in the Opening Day lineup, but will miss part of Spring Training.

MLB: San Diego Padres at San Francisco Giants Darren Yamashita-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning, baseball fans!

It looks like we’ll be getting at least one more game of the World Series, with the Houston Astros having a spoooky comeback in last night’s Halloween Game 5.

As you may recall, Tommy La Stella was struggling with a nagging Achilles issue through the final stretch of the season and during the National League Division Series earlier this month.

Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reported on Friday that La Stella has now undergone surgery for this injury, and is expected to be out for four months, which would have him coming back in the middle of Spring Training, as the San Francisco Giants report in February. La Stella is still likely to be on the Opening Day roster.
