Two franchises, both alike in winningness
In San Francisco, where we lay our scene.
From ancient grudge, break to new mutiny
Where playoff blood makes playoff hands unclean.
From forth the fatal loins of these two foes
A pair of star-cross’d rivals take the field
Whose misadventured piteous previous games
Do with their death bury series leads
The fearful passage of their fateful duel
And the continuance of their fanbases’ rage
Which, despite season’s end, naught could remove
Is now the three hours’ traffic of our stage
Good morning, baseball fans!
You might think you’ve rooted really hard for the Giants in your life. You might even think you’ve rooted really hard for the Dodgers to lose. But friends, I need you to step up your game. Because tonight is the be all end all of Beat LA nights.
The San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers are set to face off in a winner-take-all Game 5 of the National League Division Series and I need you all channeling the Captain himself to get on his level of Beat LAttitude.
If you’re reading this on Apple News, the above video has been stripped out, so make sure you open it in a different browser because it is mandatory viewing for today. If, for some other reason, you still cannot see the video, I wrote a whole post about it back in 2018 that you can check out for a full description.
Bottom line: I need you to pull out all the stops when it comes to your superstitious rituals. I’m talking rally enchiladas, those crusty socks you haven’t washed since you first wore them during the 2010 playoffs, sitting in the car to listen because that’s when they score runs, or turning the game off when Buster Posey is at bat because he only hits a home run when you’re not watching.
Personally, I’ll be wearing the “Splashtrzemski” shirt I got from Breaking T and the Pride logo hat that I wore during Game 1 of this series. And I will NOT be recapping, due to my cursed record, so I’m doing my part!
What about you?
Old, random MCC article for you to read
Might as well link this one again, since it’s very relevant.
