Hello and happy Saturday.

Lately there have been a lot of articles about the top prospects in baseball, which gives us a chance to see how the San Francisco Giants farm is looking. When I think about the farm, one of two things happens. Either I get irrationally optimistic, and look at old farm reports to quell my enthusiasm, or I get irrationally pessimistic, and look at old farm reports to feel better.

Anyway, yesterday i got caught up looking at old top 10 Giants prospects lists, and thought we should all revisit the team’s top 10 from 10 years ago, per MLB.com.

You ready? Take a deep breath. Here we go.

  1. Gary Brown
  2. Francisco Peguero
  3. Charlie Culberson
  4. Ehire Adrianza
  5. Eric Surkamp
  6. Tommy Joseph
  7. Heath Hembree
  8. Chris Dominguez
  9. Hector Sanchez
  10. Conor Gillaspie

Ouch! Not fun!

Now, every class is different, and I think it’s safe to say that we would be sorely disappointed if the Giants current top 10 didn’t surpass the ... uhh ... -0.4 rWAR that those 10 players provided for the Giants during their careers.

In hindsight, that’s a funny top 10. But yeesh.

How many days until Opening Day?

There are 61 days until Opening Day. That is ... not a lot of days. Not a lot of days at all.

Have a great Saturday, friends. Enjoy your weekend.
