Thanks to a tie in the nomination process, there were eight players to choose from on the 23rd iteration of the 2021 Willie McCovey Memorial Community Prospect List. And votes were spread pretty evenly.
But only one player can be ranked the No. 23 prospect in the San Francisco Giants system, and that player is 19-year old right-handed pitcher Trevor McDonald, whom the Giants selected in the 11th round of the 2019 MLB Draft. McDonald moves up one spot after being ranked No. 24 a year ago.
