We’re officially deep into prospect ranking season. We’ve already seen how Baseball America and Baseball Prospectus ranked the San Francisco Giants, and now it’s time to see how MLB Pipeline views things.
The MLB Pipeline top 100 list was revealed on Thursday, and four Giants are on it. It’s the same four you would expect, in the same order you would expect, though the rankings might not quite align with where you’d put them.
The top two Giants prospects are pretty close, with Marco Luciano coming in at No. 16, and Joey Bart not far behind at No. 23. Then it’s a pretty big gap before you get to the next two, you are right next to each other: Heliot Ramos at No. 82, and Hunter Bishop at No. 83.
I’d guess that most Giants fans see that Ramos ranking as pretty low, but in a season without Minor League Baseball — and a season in which Ramos got hurt — it’s hard to gripe too much with the results.
In conclusion, you can expect all four of these players to be in the top 10 next year.
