2021 Willie McCovey Memorial Community Prospect List No. 19

Who is the 19th-best prospect in the farm?

Willie McCovey in Batting Position

So far the 2021 Wille McCovey Memorial Community Prospect List has pretty closely mirrored the 2020 list, which makes sense given the lack of Minor League Baseball least season.

With 18 San Francisco Giants prospects ranked, five players have already appeared in the same spot where they were ranked last season, with another seven players within a single spot of where they clocked in a year ago. Seeing as how three of the names on the list are players drafted between last year’s CPL and this year’s, that means only three of the 15 returning names we’ve covered have moved more than one place.

That trend is holding strong at No. 18, where the winner is right-handed pitcher Kai-Wei Teng, who repeats the spot he held last year. Consistency!

Upwards and onwards.
