The 16th episode of the 2021 Willie McCovey Memorial Community Prospect List was a close one, with three of the five nominees breaking the 20% threshold. But there can only be one winner, and that winner is 23-year old right-handed pitcher Camilo Doval, who comes is as the No. 16 prospect in the San Francisco Giants farm system, earning 31% of the vote.
It’s a nice rise for Doval, who was finished No. 26 on this list a year ago. In the absence of a Minor League season, Doval spent the year at the Alternate Training Site, and was even on the taxi squad at one point during the season. That seems to have helped him.
Now it’s time to find the No. 17 prospect, and since there are only four remaining nominees, it’s also time to add some new names. I’ll leave a comment at the top of the thread — respond with nominees you want to see in Friday’s CPL, and recommend the names you think should be there. The four names with the most recommendations will be added to the next CPL.
