Ahh, the start of a new series, full of fresh opportunity and hope. Let’s do it.
Game #8
Who: San Francisco Giants (3-4) vs. Texas Rangers (2-3)
Where: Oracle Park, San Francisco, California
When: 6:10 p.m. PT
Regional broadcast: NBC Sports Bay Area (available through fuboTV)
National broadcast: ESPN2
Radio: KNBR 680 AM/104.5 FM
Lineups
Against a left-handed pitcher, the Giants are going extremely right-handed, with eight of their nine batters hitting from the right side. The only exception is Mike Yastrzemski, who bats third. That tells you everything you need to know about how well he’s hitting.
And Hunter Pence, who is 0-18, hits cleanup, which should tell you how confident they still are in him.

Notes
BB9 out: Brandon Belt returned to the lineup on Thursday, and drew three walks. It remains to be seen if he’ll be platooned, because he’s resting tonight more due to soreness in the heel that kept him in the Injured List to start the year.
Belt came out of last night's game with soreness in his injured heel. That has as much to do with him not playing tonight as facing a LHP. #SFGiants
