Due to the coronavirus outbreak suspending the 2020 MLB season, we’re rewatching the three San Francisco Giants postseason runs, game-by-game, on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday nights at 6 p.m. PT, with a gamethread for each.

The St. Louis Cardinals snuck by the San Francisco Giants in Game 2 of the NLCS, earning a 5-4 win. And now the series is tied 1-1 and things move to the Bay Area.

It’s now effectively a best of five series, with the first three games AT&T Park, and the last two (if necessary) at Busch Stadium. And a spot in the World Series on the line.

San Francisco is handing the ball to Tim Hudson, a right-hander playing his 16th season and his first with the Giants. He finished the year with a 9-13 record, a 3.57 ERA, a 3.54 FIP, and 120 strikeouts in 189.1 innings. He represented the Giants in the All-Star Game.

St. Louis is turning to right-hander John Lackey, whom they acquired during the season from the Boston Red Sox. Lackey finished the year with a 14-10 record, a 3.82 ERA, a 3.78 FIP, and 164 strikeouts in 198 innings.

We’re starting this rewatch at the same time as all the other ones: 6 p.m. PT. The video is embedded at the bottom of the article, or you can find it at this link, or you can YouTube search “Giants 2014 NLCS Game 3” and click the first link.
