Due to the coronavirus outbreak suspending the 2020 MLB season, we’re rewatching the three San Francisco Giants postseason runs, game-by-game, on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday nights at 6 p.m. PT, with a gamethread for each.
The San Francisco Giants kept rolling through the postseason, taking Game 1 of the NLCS by beating the St. Louis Cardinals 3-0 in yet another magnificent performance by Madison Bumgarner.
Now they’ll look to build on that momentum and take a 2-0 series lead back to San Francisco.
As they look for that commanding lead, the Giants are sending Jake Peavy to the mound. Peavy — who came to the Giants in a midseason trade with the Boston Red Sox — finished the year with a 7-13 record, a 3.73 ERA, a 4.11 FIP, and 158 strikeouts in 202.2 innings.
The Cardinals will send out Lance Lynn as they look to even up the series. Lynn finished the season with a 15-10 record, a 2.74 ERA, a 3.35 FIP, and 181 strikeouts in 203.2 innings.
We’re starting this rewatch at the same time as all the other ones: 6 p.m. PT. The video is embedded at the bottom of the article, or you can find it at this link, or you can YouTube search “Giants 2014 NLCS Game 2” and click the first link.
