Due to the coronavirus outbreak suspending the 2020 MLB season, we’re rewatching the three San Francisco Giants postseason runs, game-by-game, on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday nights at 6 p.m. PT, with a gamethread for each.

After playing catchup all postseason long, the San Francisco Giants are finally in the driver’s seat. They needed to win three straight games to survive the NLDS against the Cincinnati Reds. They needed to win three straight games to survive the NLCS against the St. Louis Cardinals. They never led either series until it was over.

Things look different in the World Series, as they hold a 2-0 lead over the Detroit Tigers, and need to win just twice more in the next five games in order to win their second World Series in three years.

With the series shifting to Comerica Park in Detroit, the Giants are looking to take a 3-0 lead behind Ryan Vogelsong. The right-handed pitcher finished 2012 with a 14-9 record, a 3.37 ERA, a 3.70 FIP, and 158 strikeouts in 189.2 innings.

The Tigers are trying to get back into the series with Anibal Sanchez, a righty who started the season with the Miami Marlins. He finished 2012 with a 9-13 record, a 3.86 ERA, a 3.53 FIP, and 167 strikeouts in 195.2 innings.
