Hello, Happy Sunday. More importantly, happy Mother’s Day.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the wonderful moms in the McCovey Chronicles community, and happy Mother’s Day to all of the wonderful moms who root for the San Francisco Giants, which is ultimately what brought us all here.

I don’t have anything special or magical to say. Just, happy Mother’s Day. Call your mom, if you’re fortunate enough to be able to. Hug your mom, if you’re fortunate enough to be able to. Bake your mom a yummy treat, if you’re capable of baking yummy treats.

If you’re a mother: Have a wonderful, wonderful day.

If you’re not a mother: Also have a wonderful, wonderful day, but that’s less important.

If you’re my mother: I miss you, I love you, and I can’t wait until it’s safe to travel again so I can see you.

Did Barry Bonds hit a home run today?

He sure did.

May 10, 1996: Against the Pittsburgh Pirates, Bonds hit a 2-run home run in the 1st inning off of Denny Neagle, scoring Robby Thompson. It gave the Giants a 2-0 lead, and they would win 5-4. It was his 16th home run of the year.

May 10, 2000: Against the St. Louis Cardinals, Bonds hit 2 home runs. A solo home run in the 3rd inning off of Andy Benes tied the game 2-2. A solo home run in the 8th inning off of Heathcliff Slocumb gave the Giants a 4-3 lead, which was the final score. They were his 13th and 14th home runs of the year, and his 2nd game in a row with a home run off of Slocumb.

Hope you all enjoy your Sunday.
