Gamethread: 2012 NLDS Game 2

Madison Bumgarner vs. Bronson Arroyo.

National League Division Series - Cincinnati Reds v. San Francisco Giants - Game Two

Due to the coronavirus outbreak suspending the 2020 MLB season, we’re rewatching the three San Francisco Giants postseason runs, game-by-game, on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday nights at 6 p.m. PT, with a gamethread for each.

After dropping Game 1 by a score of 5-2, the San Francisco Giants will try and even up the 2012 NLDS against the Cincinnati Reds with a second and final home game.

Win, and things are all tied up. Lose, and they’ll have the daunting task of needing to win three in a row, all on the road. That sure would be wild.

The Giants are sending left-hander Madison Bumgarner to the mound. Bumgarner finished the year with a 16-11 record, a 3.37 ERA, a 3.50 FIP, and 191 strikeouts in 208.1 innings.

The Reds are countering with right-hander Bronson Arroyo, who finished the year with a 12-10 record, a 3.74 ERA, a 4.09 FIP, and 129 strikeouts in 202 innings.

We’re starting this rewatch at the same time as all of the rewatches: 6 p.m. PT. The video isn’t embeddable, but you can find it by clicking here, then you can watch or cast from your browser. Or you can find it on YouTube by searching “Giants 2012 NLDS Game 2” and clicking the first link.

For those who want to skip the pregame show, the actual game starts a little more than 8 minutes in. So you can join at 6:08 p.m. PT, and use this link to go straight to the 8-minute mark.
