Programming reminder: Tonight we’re rewatching Game 4 of the 2010 World Series at 6 p.m. PT.
Yesterday would have been the San Francisco Giants 23rd game of the season. Instead, we’ve had no games.
In the hypothetical season I’ve been making up, the Giants are 9-14. Were the season not hypothetical, they’d probably not be 9-14. Better? Hopefully. Worse? Possibly.
We’ll never know, so you can never be wrong when I ask you: What would the Giants record be today if the coronavirus had not suspended the season?
My guess is . . . uhh . . . 9-14.
Did Barry Bonds hit a home run today?
A few!
April 22, 2000: Against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Bonds hit a 2-run home run in the 3rd inning off of Omar Daal, scoring Calvin Murray. It gave the Giants a 3-2 lead, and they would win 8-6. It was his 7th home run of the year.
April 22, 2006: Against the Colorado Rockies, Bonds hit a solo home run in the 1st inning off of Aaron Cook. It gave the Giants a 2-0 lead, and they would win 6-4. It was his 1st home run of the year.
April 22, 2007: Against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Bonds hit a solo home run in the 4th inning against . . . wait for it . . . Yusmeiro Petit. It gave the Giants a 2-0 lead, and they would hang on to win 2-1. It was his 6th home run of the year.
