The San Francisco Giants are looking to retool and develop prospects for their next era of success.
We saw glimpses of that prior to the postponement of Opening Day during Spring Training with Joey Bart making a strong impression, hitting .438.
What is next for the pool of prospects in the Giants’ system?
According to Keith Law of The Athletic, the potential to be the best group in MLB.
During a recent “Klawchat”, Law was asked which team is building the next elite farm system.
His answer: “Giants.”
Law wrote about the Giants prospect pool during his annual summer rankings, where he had San Francisco No. 10.
Here is what he had to say in his breakdown:
“I feel like the whole exceeds the sum of the parts here,” Law wrote. ”Each individual Giants prospect of note has some significant risk of low or no return, but if you add them all up, there’s more than enough upside to start to feel optimistic about the Giants’ long-term future.”
Although none of the Giants’ prospects made the top-40 in Law’s MLB prospect rankings, four players from the system made the list:
Joey Bart: No. 44
Hunter Bishop: No. 87
Heliot Ramos: No. 52
Marco Luciano: No. 58
