Due to the coronavirus outbreak suspending the 2020 MLB season, we’re rewatching the three San Francisco Giants postseason runs, game-by-game, on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday nights at 6 p.m. PT, with a gamethread for each.

It’s time for the World Series. And it’s the first San Francisco Giants World Series game since . . . uhh . . . well . . . you know.

The Giants beat the Atlanta Braves 3-1 in the NLDS and the Philadelphia Phillies 4-2 in the NLCS to win the National League pennant. Now they take on the champions of the American League, the 90-72 Texas Rangers, who beat the Tampa Bay Rays 3-2 in the ALDS and the New York Yankees 4-2 in the ALCS.

And we’ve got another great pitching matchup between the two starters who won the 2008 Cy Young Awards. Of course, one of the two also won the 2009 Cy Young Award. Just saying.

We’re starting this rewatch at the same time as all of the rewatches: 6 p.m. PT. I’m embedding the video at the bottom of the article, which you can watch in your browser or cast from, or you can find it on YouTube by searching “2010 World Series Game 1” and clicking the first link.
