Tuesday BP: Rewatching details

Okay, folks. Yesterday we did some planning for a San Francisco Giants game to rewatch and do a gamethread for. The coronavirus halted the 2020 MLB season before it began, and it’s going to be quite a while before we have baseball again.

So we’re going to do this a lot. Lots of old games. It’ll be fun.

Yesterday I took a poll on what game to watch. As of last night, Game 7 of the 2014 World Series was winning, but the people in the comments were stumping hard for Game 1 of the 2010 NLDS.

Since we’re going to do this a bit - not just a one-off, unless people hate it - it does make some sense to start at the beginning (a very good place to start). Or something approximating it.

But I also don’t want to override the voting process, especially in an election year.

So, with that said, let’s vote on just those two games:

No one had any preferences for days, but a few people mentioned evenings so as to approximate real baseball. 6:45 p.m. PT is the standard start time for the Giants this year, so let’s go with that.

How’s Wednesday (tomorrow) sound? If it’s a hit, we’ll come back and do it again soon.
