Yesterday I wrote about the roughly 109 bazillion players who will jog to the outfield for the San Francisco Giants in 2020.
It got me wondering: Who will lead the team in starts at each position?
The outfield is a total crapshoot, with no position solidified. The infield has a clear favorite at each spot, but there are still a lot of question marks, especially at second base, where we’ll probably see a large number of players get reps.
The rotation only has one player who can be counted on for a lot of innings, and he stands a good chance of being traded.
So it’s really a wide, wide, wide open race.
Here are my picks:
P: Johnny Cueto
C: Buster Posey
1B: Brandon Belt
2B: Mauricio Dubon
3B: Evan Longoria
SS: Brandon Crawford
LF: Alex Dickerson
CF: Mike Yastrzemski
RF: Jaylin Davis
For what it’s worth, these were the leaders in 2019:
P: Madison Bumgarner
C: Buster Posey
1B: Brandon Belt
2B: Joe Panik
3B: Evan Longoria
SS: Brandon Crawford
LF: Mike Yastrzemski
CF: Kevin Pillar
RF: Mike Yastrzemski
Your turn.
