After two years of being named the top prospect in the San Francisco Giants farm system by the lovely readers of McCovey Chronicles, Joey Bart will have to settle for second place in what figures to be his final appearance on the Willie McCovey Memorial Community Prospect List.
Despite having a very rough debut MLB season, which saw him strike out 41 times in 111 plate appearances with just three walks, Bart received 65% of the votes in the second CPL. He’s still the top prospect in the Giants farm according to most publications, with Fangraphs even ranking him as the No. 5 prospect in all of baseball, behind only Wander Franco, MacKenzie Gore, Adley Rutschman, and Julio Y. Rodriguez.
So, with Bart’s placement we know have two names in the books.
