Who’s the second-best prospect in the Giants farm?

Not surprisingly, Marco Luciano ran away with the title of top prospect in the San Francisco Giants farm in the opening round of the 2021 Community Prospect List. Despite being the organization’s No. 2 prospect in the eyes of Fangraphs and MLB Pipeline, the McCovey Chronicles community gave Luciano 78% of the vote for the esteemed title of CPL top prospect.

Luciano wrested the belt from the two-time defending champion Joey Bart.

A small note: you might notice Luciano is the picture for this article. When possible, I’m going to include the winner of the previous CPL as the article picture. If a picture of them isn’t available, I’ll use a picture of Willie McCovey to avoid influencing the vote with a picture of one of the nominees.

So here’s where the list stands (as a reminder, each player’s name links to the CPL where they were voted).

The list so far

  1. Marco Luciano

Hey, that list is short. It’s time to add to it. So here are the nominees for the second-best prospect in the farm, a distinction held by Luciano this time last year.

As another reminder, with nominees, the first name links to their Baseball-Reference page, and the surname links to their Fangraphs page, when available.

#2 prospect nominees
