The seventh iteration of the 2021 Willie McCovey Memorial Community Prospect List has come and gone, and the McCovey Chronicles community has spoken. Alexander Canario has officially been dubbed the seventh-best prospect in the San Francisco Giants farm system.
Canario is currently rehabbing a recent surgery he had to repair a labrum in his shoulder. But he should be healthy for the bulk of 2021, and have a great chance to prove his tools and rise in the rankings for next year.
As is, he drops one spot in the rankings, after finishing sixth a year ago. He was surpassed by Luis Matos and Seth Corry (and gained a spot by Logan Webb’s graduation). Canario earned 48% of the vote in the six-player field.
So let’s move on to the eighth CPL.

We’re ready to add an eighth name, and it seems likely that we’ll get our first player from the 2020 draft class.
