Hello and happy Friday.
The San Francisco Giants selected four players in Thursday’s Rule 5 Draft: one in the MLB portion of the draft, and three in the AAA portion.
The also lost one player: infielder Jalen Miller, who was taken by the Atlanta Braves in the AAA portion of the draft.
#braves just took IF Jalen Miller from the #SFGiants in the AAA portion of the Rule 5. He's a Georgia native and once was a top prospect in the SF system as a third-round pick in 2015.

Miller was a third-round pick by the Giants in 2015, and played AA in 2019, where he hit .216/.287/.332 with 49 walks and 106 strikeouts in 550 plate appearances. Fangraphs had him ranked as the No. 27 prospect in the team’s farm.
On the one hand, it feels like a notable loss at first. On the other hand, the fact that the Giants didn’t want to protect him from the Minor League portion of the draft might indicate otherwise.
Best of luck with the Braves, Jalen!
