Hello and happy Saturday.
According to a report, the San Francisco Giants are interested in free agent starting pitcher Dan Straily.
One of the more fascinating free agents is SP Dan Straily. Compiled 200 K in one of the most dominant KBO seasons ever. Several MLB teams in on him. Reds, Giants, Angels, among them. Will decide between pitching in the US or Korea next week. Per sources.

It would be an extremely Giantsy move to sign Straily, who will turn 32 in a few days, because the right-hander is coming off of a dynamic season in the KBO that helped wash away the stink of a truly horrific MLB season in 2019.
How horrific? While with the Baltimore Orioles in 2019, the right-hander pitched 47.2 innings. He allowed 52 earned runs. It says something about the state of the Orioles roster that he was allowed to pitch 47.2 innings despite sporting an ERA that started with the number “9,” but that’s a discussion for a different website.
After not receiving any MLB offers, Straily headed to Korea for the 2020 season, where he played for the Lotte Giants. And he had a cool 2.50 ERA and 2.97 FIP, with 205 strikeouts to 51 walks in 194.2 innings. Did that fix things enough that he can have success in MLB? We’ll potentially see.
The Giants certainly have found success targeting such players, as Darin Ruf had some MLB struggles, some KBO magic, and then a great 2020 in San Francisco.
