Note: There will just be one BP for the weekend. This will serve as the thread until Monday morning.
The San Francisco Giants haven’t done a whole lot of winning lately. And they haven’t exactly been making splashes in free agency. And for that matter, their recent hiring of manager Gabe Kapler was questionable, to put it very, very lightly.
But it’s not all bad. I promise! You just might have to peel off the first few layers of the onion before you get to the good stuff.
According to Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area, team employee Abe Silvestri was recently awarded as Visiting Clubhouse Manager of the Year, an award voted on by his peers. It was his second straight year earning the distinction.
I don't think people realize how many employees the Giants have grinding behind the scenes, so shoutout to Abe Silvestri for being named Visiting Clubhouse Manager of the Year in a vote by his peers. He's been with Giants for five years and has won back-to-back years.

So, uhh . . . what is a Visiting Clubhouse Manager? Well, it’s just like a normal clubhouse manager, except you handle the visiting team. So think of Giants legend Mike Murphy, except with fewer Tim Lincecum hugs, and more exposure to Dodgers stink.
Anyway, congrats to Silvestri on giving the Giants a reputation for being good hosts. If they can’t win baseball games, at least they can do other things well.
