Good morning, McCoven!
If you’re looking for a fun read to start your day off right, you should check out this piece from Kerry Crowley of The Mercury News. Crowley spent some time talking with players, coaches and broadcasters about which current and former players, as well as coaches, would be able to make the transition into broadcasting after their playing days are over.
It probably won’t surprise you that Stephen Vogt was the top vote-getter, with even Mike Krukow saying he could walk into a booth and do it tomorrow. But many also believe that Vogt will pursue a career as a manager when his playing days are over.
It probably also won’t surprise you that Brandon Crawford was not a top vote-getter, due to his stoicism and very quiet manner of speech. Though I personally think his dry humor would be put to good use if he wanted to go that route. (Assuming people could hear him.)
I don’t want to give too much away, but it’s always fun to see the players give analysis their own skills and those of their fellow teammates. And this was no exception.
