Good morning, McCoven!
A house-keeping note, this is going to be the weekend thread, so you can come back here between game posts.
So, I was asked in an interview last week what I thought might be the cause of the massive turnaround the Giants have been having over the last several weeks. I (mostly jokingly) said that I thought Alex Dickerson was somewhat of a catalyst. The energy changed when he joined the team, and while that’s something that isn’t quantifiable, it isn’t completely irrelevant.
Now, obviously correlation does not equal causation, but it doesn’t feel like a coincidence that Dickerson joining the team on June 21st was soon followed by the massive amount of winning. And when he stopped playing regularly was right around the time when the team started to show signs of slowing down.
This is a great big heaping pile of “I’m not saying, I’m just saying” but it does seem like the team is missing that big Dickerson energy almost as much as they are missing his bat. Get well soon, buddy.
