Good morning, McCoven!
As you are all likely aware, Mauricio Dubon was called up. And it’s a heartwarming tale of missed phone calls, breakfast burritos, and childhood fandom. Dubon apparently ignored the call initially because he was having breakfast and the call was coming from an Oregon number. And, I mean, I would ignore most phone calls for a breakfast burrito. But maaaaybe not that one.
Anyway, Dubon later tweeted this:
10 years ago I told my host parents “I’m gonna play here one day” and guess what it’s happening #blessed ⚓️ pic.twitter.com/1QCAnGMclf

And if that doesn’t warm your heart, you probably didn’t have one to begin with.
Per Alex Pavlovic on Twitter, Dubon’s first game at AT&T was during the late 2010 playoff push, and he was also in attendance for Travis Ishikawa’s walk off home run in the 2014 NLCS.
Clearly, this is the new Brandon Crawford. In more ways than one, but specifically with regards to Crawford’s fandom as a child. And Dubon? Well, he grew up wearing Crawford’s jersey. Welcome to the club, kid.
