It looks like Mike Yastrzemski won yesterday’s poll about who the community thinks will be the first player to hit 20 home runs for the Giants this season (even if Pillar did extend his lead in last night’s game). If you are wondering how the Orioles let Yastrzemski go without ever giving him a look, well, you’re not alone.
According to Alex Pavlovic’s piece, Yastrzemski wonders that himself, but says that getting a fresh start with the Giants not only takes that weight off of his shoulders, but has allowed him to thrive, saying:
“I honestly, I don’t know, and I let go of it. I stopped trying to figure out what happened, what went wrong. Now that I’ve had a chance here it’s just a weight off my shoulders that I don’t even have to have in the back of my head anymore. It doesn’t matter anymore to me.”
It certainly doesn’t, and it doesn’t matter to the Giants. Because at the end of the day, the numbers speak for themselves:
