Good morning, McCoven!
So, I don’t want to alarm you, but it looks like there are a handful of Giants who might hit 20+ home runs this season. I mean, they have the potential to do so, anyway, there’s obviously no guarantee.
But for a team who has been in a home run drought for the last several years, that’s pretty exciting.
Our contenders:
- Kevin Pillar: 17
- Mike Yastrzemski: 16 (in nearly half the amount of games as Pillar)
- Evan Longoria: 15
- Brandon Belt: 14
- Pablo Sandoval: 14
Who do you think might cross the line first? Sandoval is a long shot, as he is currently on the IL. I would never count out the odds of Brandon Belt going on a hot streak and mashing five in a week. But I think my money is on Yastrzemksi. Which, of course, means he will not hit another home run this season. But such is the writer’s curse.
What do you think?
