Good morning, McCoven!
This is a Brandon Belt grand slam appreciation thread. As I mentioned in the recap last night, I have a vested interest in Brandon Belt grand slams. And after his first one, I will forever have a fear that the Giants will muck it up, going full LOL Belt to lose. But that was not the case last night, thankfully. So let’s breathe a sigh of relief and enjoy watching the magnificent giraffe do his thing.
This was Belt’s first career grand slam, against the San Diego Padres in April of 2017. Belt would hit another home run in this game, but as mentioned, the team lost the game. 2017 was a dark time.
And here was last night’s. While Belt himself opts for stoicism, look at the joy on his teammates’ faces, particularly Buster Posey. Regardless of what happens in the rest of the game, if you can make Posey smile like that, it was a good game.
Brandon Belt ordered the Grand Salami.
